Cpu limitations

So I’m doing a build and I do have a good Intel motherboard I don’t really want to get rid of but the socket is out of date lga 1155 in order to keep up with modern computing speeds im thinking of going to a Xeon e3 server processor as it has more threads and I don’t really need a built in gpu because all my sound and video is through the GC... any input on this idea

Post the board, I'll let you know if the cost for the used Xeon is worth it.

Also, what do you have in there already?
