Good day,

I am currently building a new rig. This project is a fairly budget rig with some re-used parts and some Compromises on parts. I am unsure if this is the right thread for this but here goes.

The Build is as follows

CHASIS: Coolermaster HAF X  w/ Additional Top 200mm Fan (Coolermaster Megaflow 200mm Red 700rpm) and Optional GPU Duct fan (Cougar Vortex 120MM Hydro Dynamic Bearing 1200RPM)

PSU: (have to verrify when I get home) Is either a XFX Pro 750W Gold certified or XFX Pro 850W Gold or Bronze

Mobo : MSI MPOWER Z87 LGA1150

CPU: Intel Core i5 4670k (Upgrading from Core 2 E8500) This was also a compromise because of the price

CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H100I

RAM:Corsair Vengence Blue 8gb (2x4GB) DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 (This was a compromise as it was fairly cheap)

GPU: GTX 560 Ti 448 Cores Limited Edition (Re-Used from previous rig)

Boot Drive: OCZ Vertex 128gb

Sound Card: Creative X-FI (re-used from previous rig)

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate

I don't think I missed anything . Now I am wondering if I should overclock the CPU/GPU? If so I am wondering what kinds of tools I should use also would the OC Genie be more than enough for my setup? I do a wide variety of tasks such as Virtual Computing for application testing (Nothing overly intensive it's been running pretty decent in my current rig as most the time it's running Windows XP or Linux) Some mild usage of Adobe products. Gaming (newer games such as Skyrim). and various other tasks.

Also worth noting as I get more money I intend to upgrade to a i7 cpu (hopefully Gen 5 and 6 are compatible with 1150) as well as in a year or so I will be upgrading to a newer GTX card (hopefully a water cooled edition)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

P.s. This would be my first OC rig

SAV1OUR, I already have all the parts listed (well some of them are waiting to be shipped) I'm more wondering on if OC'ing is going to be worth it at all and if I should go the hardcore way and set everything myself or if OC Genie will do the trick also if there are any options for OC'ing my GPU or not and if it might be worth it. I suppose maybe this is the wrong forum section?

He said:  "please use the quote button if you want me to get back to you".

There is a button on the right side which says "Quote". If you use this, people will get a notification and will reply back a lot faster.

oh ok in that case if its your first OC let the mobo do it then when you gather more confidence with going around in the bios manual
