Well, for a price to performance AMD kills Nvidia and Intel builds any day of the week. not for clock speed but in multi-threaded applications, most games now. And OpenCL support, something most games are starting to go to to be on SteamBoxes.

Also, video editing/rendering/recording/live streaming all work better on more cores over faster cores, most of the time.

over the time i ran out of storage on my 500gb hdd

my pc started slowing down

takes a few seconds to go in a hd movie from the start to the half of it

The 120GB is just for the OS, not storing things. I've had my 120GB boot drive for around a year and still have 60GB left, with about 500GB left on my 2TB HDD

Well right now, games are limited on the steambox but if it does pick up passe or if Linux ever becomes a viable gaming platform that is widely adopted then more games are going to be coming to that, and those games are most certainly going to support 4+ cores.

I'd suggest planning later. ~2-3 days at most before you buy. Parts and prices change frequently so any parts list you come up with now will likely be obsolete by the time you're ready to buy.
