I need help

Ghastlyspecter

I got a Msi 3080 gaming x trio. And when I got it I tried running a triple a game. When I start one my cpu speed goes down base speed then after a few mins it goes down to 0.7 ghz. I have had the cpu for five months and before my 3080 I used a EVGA 1050ti. This issue occurred right as I got my GPU. After some trial and error i found out that when i uninstall my gpu driver the issue is fixed. but as soon as i re-install it the issue comes back. And help would be greatly appreciated

  • have you tried resetting your bios? clear the CMOS for this
  • try uninstalling and reinstalling your GPU drivers using DDU. this
  • check if your PSU is working properly. the 1050ti was a relatively low powered card and when you changed to a 3080, your cpu may be not getting enought power? though this is very unlikely because i would assume the system would just crash when you start a game.
