What CPU for streaming?

My friend wants to upgrade from a r5 2600 to either a 5800x or a 3900x. His primary purpose is game streaming. Which would be a better choice?

And are these 2 CPU's compatible with B 450?

Depends on the board - not all B450 boards are compatible with Zen 3 as only some manufacturers have rolled out BIOS updates for them.

Which board is it?

As far as I can tell, this board does not officially support Zen 3 CPUs.

There's a Reddit post to a Mediafire link with BIOS 8501, but the current one is is 4201, so I would ignore it.

Wait for ASUS to release an official Zen 3 CPU-supporting BIOS if you want a Zen 3 CPU, or get the 3900X.

I think he should go with the 3900x cause the more the cores the more it helps with the streaming

Yes the 5000 series is wayy better so either get the 3900x or wait for 1-2 months for the 5000 series to have normal supply and price to normalize and get 5900x probably but if he does 1080p streaming then 3900x should be more than enough

its a 1440p 144hz monitor😅 Though i think 60FPS might be enough. Though i dont know what games he plays. He was an ESL pro once, so maybe he will play e sports titles and new AAA Titles

just check the support page of asus's official site and find out

there's a bios update released 3 days ago but i am not sure if it supports 4th gen so he better gets the 3900x

also, in specification it mentiones support for upto 3rd gen only so it seems like it's not supported, atleast for now
