Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max

Headset: HyperX Cloud II

I recently built a new pc and my old headset that I've been using on my old laptop has recently been making a staticy noise out of the mic input. I tried plugging in my headset into both the front IO and the Rear IO with a jack splitter and it still has the noise. Any way to fix this?

could just be the headset, if there is a way to replace the part or such.

Not so sure and if it's that who makes the noise?

So the headset has a detachable mic on it, regardless of whether it is plugged in or not it still gives me a staticy noise for my mic input, I just tested using my brother's Cloud IIs and it still has static in my mic input, so I'd assume it's my mobo or drivers.

sorry didn't see it was a input, thought the mic itself made some noise sorry :P

Instead of using the motherboard's audio chip, one could get something else that you can plug it into to make it more clear?

Not that much into the audio side of things, but there is a audio thread here somewhere, from DAC/AMP or whatever else to be used and if you find something that might be good for you. Maybe someone comes with an recommendation?

Also if you are too close to the mic or have something infront of it to take up some of the noise, you also got the new tech from Nvidia if you have their stuff? Like RTX voice that LTT did a video on, that does some nice filtering but uses some power.
