So I recently helped a friend with an upgrade to a Ryzen 5 3600X processor and a ASUS TUF X570 plus with wifi motherboard and seems to run really slow in bios...as in laggy when you move the mouse or try to use the arrow keys to get to other tabs. When I check the core clock, the motherboard seems to be under clocking the CPU below 1ghz without me even messing with the CPU ratio or clock speed, infact I even updated the bios and still it runs super slow. This motherboard was working like new from the user who sold it to me on ebay and said it was 100% functional. I tested the Ryzen 5 3600X CPU in my rig and it run perfectly fine, also ram tested perfectly fine as well. What would cause the motherboard to auto underclock a CPU like that? Ive never seen a motherboard used or brand new do that tro a CPU.

Clocks below 1 ghz, sometimes 900 mhz indicate the cpu is sort of in emergency mode because something is wrong.

Clear CMOS, check temps, Check the power connectors on the board, maybe there is something damaged, also check the socket for damages. Check if the cpu fan header is working. Did the seller show proof of that statement? There must be a reason why he or she sold a perfectly fine X570 board.
