Quick PSU Upgrade Help

Kryptos

Hey anyone and everyone, I'm looking to possibly upgrade from a 1080ti to get the the 3080ti when it comes out (famous last words I know). I currently have a 650watt PSU and I know that won't cut it but the one area in PC building I'm lacking is understanding PSUs. I have read through the tier list and was looking at this 850watt SeaSonic (Link). Thanks for reading and responding about my pick or suggestions a different one.

This is my Current Setup (except that I plan to get another 16GB of RAM馃槥

if it's for games the 3080ti wouldn't be that great unless the do like the super cards or like with the 1080 vs 1080ti only with the 3080ti...

If it's for a certain workload? I guess it is what you want?

650W can still work and if not the 3080ti OC will take quite a bit more power, but if you want to be fully secure then the 850W should do you just fine.

While an 3090 can also work with 650W although not OC and all that, and could reduce the powerdraw for the 3090.

I guess we also got to see how the 3080ti is going to perform?

Sometimes I have to do rendering and such. Just figured that having 850watts would give me good headroom so I don't bottleneck anything and my current PSU has already dealt聽with a good amount of time.

then I guess you want the PSU that you found, unless you find a good quality one for lower price with same rating.

Yeah, I just wanted to check my bases and make sure I'm not going crazy. If anyone else has observations I'd still love to hear them.
