New Build, BSoD

Go to solution Solved by a7xstevo,

No I don't have any other sticks of RAM, the computer I'm using now is a really old laptop. I currently have the gpu out, and am in safe mode. When I tried to re install it gave me a blue screen immediately.

--Update! So it seems to be fixed! I found an external hard drive and put the bios update on it and updated it to the latest and no blue screen! Also I found I could update the 4770k so that might have helped a little also.  Thanks so much everyone for helping!

My specs are

GPU - EVGA GTX 780 SC w/ACX

CPU - i7 4770k

PSU - Corsair AXi 760

RAM - Dominator Platinum 16GB 2133 MHz

HDD - 2Tb WD Caviar Black

Mobo - Asus Maximus VI Hero Z87

Hey, I just built my new computer today, and everything is running fine it seems except I get the blue screen of death as windows starts up, or shortly after I'm in the desktop. I didn't shock it when I was building it. It's all stock, right after installing Windows 7. All the LEDs, and fans are working. I've been trying to fix it for a few hours, and made sure the cables, and everything was plugged in properly. It looked like the CPUs temperature Maxed at about 60C, but in the BIOS it was around 50C. I can stay in the BIOS with no problem. Here are pictures of the 2 different BSoD errors. Thanks!

Try underclocking your RAM to 1333MHz or re-seat them in the other slots if you have to sticks.

Maybe try reinstalling Windows. My biggest bet would be that the HDD is the problem.

Secondary Clock Interrupt and the hardware error is most likely talking about your GPU.

When you start your computer and get it into the desktop. Go into MSI afterburner and see if you can lower clock speeds or raise voltages alittle bit.

Double check ram speed, timings and voltage. If it is 1.5 volt ram then tell it to give it 1.520 or something slightly over. Also give the CPU Vcore just a bit of a bump and the LLC up one level.

That should fix any voltage issues under load with the CPU, ram, and GPU.

If you keep getting those same errors after adding voltage to your GPU then RMA it.

I have gone through the same thing before and I have only seen a Secondary clock interrupt issue with GPUs, never a CPU. Those TYPICALLY present different issues.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! So I tried the 2 and the 4 RAM slots also, same blue screen, and setting them to 1333. I also tried just one stick of RAM in each slot, no luck. I couldn't re install Windows 7, it kept blue screening me with the same 2 errors. I added the voltage, but it was stuck on the windows logo, until I returned it and then it blue screens. I took out my GPU and just went with the integrated graphics hdmi slot on the motherboard, still the same blue screen errors. I could get into safe mode one time and I didn't get a blue screen, but couldn't use afterburner. I'm not able to get the my desktop now unless I can get into safe mode.

I'm leaning towards RAM issues on this one (I'm oldschool anyway so I always think RAM with BSOD.) Try taking a stick out or switching them temporarily.

I see you've done that since i read the thread after my post. Do you have any other sticks of RAM to attempt? If this problem is this persistent it may be larger issues. You can try to remove the graphics card and reinstall windows.
