Which server should I get?

Ok so I'm looking at buying a server. I need it to be under $100. This is what I have found

If I find any others I'll update this. Let me know what you think. I know there not the best but it's better than what I have

Right now I'm thinking of using it as a file server. But I want to try some other stuff out so I could experiment with it(I would be using windows server 2012 most likely). and I would be using it at home. I just want a rack mount server that can hold 4-6 hard drives for under $100 that also has a better processor than my current server

The first one can only hold 2 drives, i think. The second isn't bad at all, we still have a couple of those is production here at work. Remember though, they are pretty loud.

Cool. Yea I'll probably get the second one. and yea I know there load. I have a 1U server that I got for free sitting along with some normal pc's that are running as servers and its pretty load but the closet I have it in muffles the sound pretty well. What do you use this kind of server for at your work?

They have 32gb of ram each in them here and a higher end cpu, we use them as ESXi hosts. They host a lot of stuff, such as: web servers, domain servers, database servers, and etc.

Yeah, should work just fine for home uses, you will need hard drives though.

Yea. I have hard drives to put in it. There only 400gb and 160gb drives but I can switch those out later for bigger drives when I have the money. I have a question if you don't mind me asking, where do you work at/for?

I work for a software company, i manage their servers and program in my spare time.

Cool. That's actually one of the things I'm looking at doing as a job(managing servers/working at a data center)

Yeah, its pretty awesome, its a pretty small company so i get to do whatever i want pretty much.

Hah. Cool. Yea its the only job I can think of doing right now that I would actually enjoy. Do they let you use any of their servers for your own stuff? Such as letting you host a website or something on one of their servers?

Yep, but since i got Google Fiber at home i have better internet and my own servers at home. So.. i don't really need to do that anymore.

WHATTTT!!!!! You have google fiber?! Lucky! I don't think I'll see fiber coming to my area for at least 5-10years sadly(I hope for it to be a lot sooner though). How much do you pay for google fiber per month?

That's pretty cool though that they'll let you use their servers for personal stuff.

Its about 123/month after taxes and everything, for internet and TV service. It's pure awesome, i don't think i can go back to normal internet anymore... lol

lol. Well your lucky. If I where to try to combine connections with comcast internet to try to get gigabit speeds I would be paying $600-$700 at least. Might even be more. It's ridiculous
