Hi,

I have a Dell Optiplex 740, which is running a SuperBikes arcade game.

Upon applying power for the first time I get a Solid Orange light, fans spinning, disk drive has power moved Ram to another DIMM slot, PC boots but displays battery low, turn off, replace CR2032.

Reapply power, now orange light again, fans spin etc, Swap RAM with known good Stick. Still same issue.

I’ve read online, seems to be a lot of conflicting statements on what is the cause of the Orange ring of death!

I know this is older tech, any advice would be appreciated.

a quick search says solid amber points to bad mobo. found this diagnostic step posted on dell's support site:

"Power off, unplug and press/hold power button for ~15 sec. Remove all RAM modules from their slots. Close case, connect mouse, monitor and keyboard, and try to boot.

You should get 2 beeps from the tower with blinking amber power button meaning "no RAM detected". If no beeps, suspect a motherboard failure."
