Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): looking for builds that a good bang for the buck my brother In law wants to gaming play most AAA titles. The budget includes monitor and peripheral‘s. Can ya guys help me out? Thanks in advance!

Well, if you need a mouse and keyboard, and an even half decent 1080p/60hz monitor (as a minimum requirement) you are going to lose at least $250 from your budget...and that's if you use the cheapest m&k combination and an entry level monitor.

A decent m&k, and a good monitor, would put you closer to $350.

I was going to ask/suggest if you would be willing to buy a second hand monitor, though I'm not sure if it is necessarily a good idea.

If you can source those 3 things at a significantly reduced cost it'll help you a lot.

As for the actual components, I will defer to the greater expertise of others who can also link you actual parts prices etc...
