Why can I hear myself when I turn the mic on, on my Logitech G430 headset? they are brand new

Might be some software setting?

 

It might be setup to play back, what the mic is recording

here are my only options for headset in logitech software:

Mic properties tab. On the sound management window can't remember exactly of by heart. Just right click the mic and hit configure. Something like that,there's a Windows audio playback setting not on the logitech software

It isnt ticked and does the same thing when I do tick it...

Hmm not sure then sorry, unless there is something in the settings page on the Logitech software, but I guess you've tried that. Sorry :<
