So my Samsung 840 boots into Windows in around 13 seconds, but now it's taking 17 seconds, it has never been like this? What may be causing the problem? The boot order is ok and no new programs activate on startup.

WoW kodus for timing it.. hehe

you may have installed a new program or hardware that installs associated windows services.

all services have overheads, especially those that rely on others to trigger first

reflect on whats changed on your system recently

Cleaning your registry up (I recommend ccleaner for this), and running ccleaner its self to get rid of unnecessary clutter (make sure to untick stuff you DONT WANT DELETED) and if this does not work there is no harm in running CHKDSK through cmd for any errors in the disk

Main PC: CPU: i7-4770k RAM: 16GB Kingston HyperX Blu SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 256GB HDD: 1TB WD Blue GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 770 2GB PSU: Corsair CX600M Case: Bitfenix Shinobi OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit

Try running Disk Defragmenter, Cleaning your registry up (I recommend ccleaner for this), and running ccleaner its self to get rid of unnecessary clutter (make sure to untick stuff you DONT WANT DELETED) and if this does not work there is no harm in running CHKDSK through cmd for any errors in the disk

DO NOT RUN DEFRAGMENTER ON AN SSD FOR CHRISTS SAKE.

I might be wrong.
