This fall, I put together a new HTPC Ryzen 5 3400G, MSI B550M Pro VDH wifi, 16GB Crucial ballistix 3200, Samsung 970 Evo Plus, Noctua NH-L9a. And 6tb worth of old HDD's for media storage.

My daughter got some kids shows on DVD for xmas and I figured I would get them ripped so I don't have to mess with the discs again.

I used MakeMKV to pull everything off the first disc, then handbrake to split up the episodes into their own files. Here's where the problem comes in. About 30 seconds into encoding the system totally locks up and eventually restarts.

I pulled up HWinfo to monitor the temps, it idles around 40c, as soon as I hit start on handbrake it jumps to about 70c, then takes about 10-30 seconds to creep up to the mid 80's when it finally locks up.

I checked the fan curves in the bios and everything is at 100% @ 70c.

At this point I'm at a loss, any suggestions?
