Okay so i haven't played any video games in over ten plus years.  Well it actually its a bit longer than that.  Im sure many of you guys who had a snes, playstation one and two know what i mean.  Then i remember years later, you got ps three, xbox and all these systems that i never kept up with because i lost interest in video games as i got older.  Back then i rarely played any games even on the pc.  I remembered downloading those roms off those emulator sites a long time ago.

Now the only games I did recall i liked to play was madden.  Now i see its on pc as well.  So the questions i ask now are a bit newbie sort of since i haven't played video games in a long time.

I see there is ps five now and like newest version of xbox.  Now back then, you obviously had to buy the physical games as in the cartdrige/cds when you bought snes, ps one etc games.  Then later on with the new systems, im pretty sure its the same.  But when i check online now... you could apparently play these games for a monthly or yearly membership as oppose to buy the game?  Is that right or not right?

I don't plan to buy a system as if i do that... the only game i probably play is madden.  Now i see they have it for pc.  Now if i buy madden for pc... that is only for playing against the computer right?  If i want to play against other ppl, i have to do a monthly subscription?

Is there any free trial to play madden or games to test it out on the pc?   Like i recall i saw a free trial but how long is it for?  And do i get to play madden against other ppl aroudn the world?  And if so, if im playing madden on pc... all the other users who play against me... are they playing on pc as well or they could be playing on a different client?  I assume it has to be same thing right?  Can't imagine someone playing madden on xbox vs someone else on ps five.

Are there any games that are good to play for single player on pc that i could test for free?

Don't know about trials, there are game passes (month or by year to play the games you want)

Only that each brand kind of has their own, ubisoft, EA and etc. Some have comed to steam.

So like streaming services like netflix is kind of like with games now, or buy the "full" game unless it's full of microtransactions.

Else console could be a thing for you, they also have their own game passes (subscription), but things might be more expensive on console compared to holiday sales on PC.

A lot of companies are offering a "netflix" for video games.

IE pay for an account subscription and play any game you want that they have.

Some subscriptions will even run the game on their server so you won't need a badass computer.

I think Linus did a video comparing a few of the services. I'm not sure though.

Only a few games have subscription online services nowadays. It's very uncommon to pay for online like one would for xbox live.

We're just starting at the point where you can play "cross platform." IE we're only just finally seeing the ability for playstation online to play with xbox online to also play with computer online.

That's game dependant.

A lot of games don't do that.

If I'm not mistaken... Madden is made by EA. EA with their Origin launcher allows a 10 hour trial to play any game for 10 hours before buying.

Demos aren't really a thing anymore.

You can play world of warcraft free up to level 20. Multiplayer only.

You can find old demos.

Really gotta scower.

Some games on "steam" sometimes do what's called a free weekend where you can play the game for free for a set time frame and it usually goes on sale.
