RTX 3080 Low usage

Hello guys,

I just got the Gigabyte Aorus RTX 3080 Master and i cant seem to get upove 90% GPU usage in most tier-A games like Warzone, Apex legends and Death Stranding, which means i am not getting the framerates that i am expecting.

For example on Warzone i should be getting 190+ fps although i am getting an average of 150 fps.

I tried every solution online and i cant get my GPU usage upove 80% average.

My gpu is not getting too warm or anything i am getting 62°C max.

Here are my other cpu specs:

ASUS ROG Strix Z490-H

Intel Core i9-10900K

Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3600MHz

ASUS ROG-Thor-850P 852 Watt 80Plus Platinum

Could be that the game is just maxed by it's design, if you increase resolution you are likely going to hit that cap of your GPU?

Could be ways to unlock higher FPS, but that is about the game, not your GPU.

What resolution?

On a GTX 1080, 150 FPS average on Warzone is normal for 1440p.  It's low for 1080p.  You didn't tell us your resolution.  For all we know, you could be playing at 4k and complaining about getting 150 fps when it should average about 120 fps ...

yea sorry about that, i am getting those fps on 1080p. that is the problem

Do you have vsync off?  What's the refresh rate of your monitor?  Do you have any framerate limiters running?  Did you disable the framerate limiter in the game? (there are three caps, each one I think can go up to 300 FPS).

 

You can also try editing the file adv_options.ini, in your users / (your user name) / documents / Call of duty Warzone (or Modern Warfare) / Players folder

Mess around with CPU Render Threads between 6-10 (6 to 8 is a good value for a 10900k) and set Video Memory Scale to 0.70.

 

Save the file after and then SET IT TO READ ONLY.  Right click it and choose properties and set it to read only, so the game doesn't overwrite changes.

Remember to remove the read only flag before trying to edit the file again.

I have a 144Hz Monitor and i have turned off every framerate limiter there is.

I have also tried all the steps you described and none of them gave any results.

The problem is not just in warzone, it is in all Games, i just used warzone as an example

you sure that, display cable is in the GPU and not motherboard if that is related?
Also have you checked display settings or Nvidia controll panel?

Not limited in BIOS by any chance?

I am sure yea that the display cable is in the GPU and not motherboard.

But i dont know what you mean by getting limited by my BIOS
