High idle cpu temps ryzen 3600

SylvrLad

Hi I’m experiencing problems with high idle cpu temps(57-66 and even 70 sometimes). I have a ryzen 5 3600 using the stock cooler. My mobo is b450 tomahawk max. My case is a meshify c and I have two noctua nf-a14 140mm fans as front intake. I used the 2 stock fans as exhaust on  rear and top above the cpu cooler. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong seeing as I’ve seen people with nearly the same build with lower temperatures. I don’t have the money to get a new cpu cooler as of now but I’m not even sure if that’s the problem. Any thoughts/solutions?

It shouldn’t be an issue, Your cooler just happens to run a higher temp gradient.

Idle temps mean nothing, as long as your max load temp isn’t high, you should be fine.

If your paranoid like me and still wanna lower your idle temps, I’d recommend undervolting the CPU to lower both idle and load temps, I have mine set at 1.2V @ 4.2 GHZ (I have the same CPU as yours), every cpu is different so undervolt at your own risk if you’re going to. I recommend  looking up a guide online on how to under volt.

Once again, as long your max load temps aren’t high, you should be fine even if idle temps are high.
