Memory compatibility

Hello everyone!

 

id like to start off by saying I’m no expert so I apologize if any terminology isn’t correct.

Im trying to figure out whether my current memory configuration would be compatible with Ryzen 5000 series CPU on a asus hero xiii crosshair x570 board. I checked the QVL for the x570 board and didn’t see my memory on there, and just wanted to double check with the forums to make sure I’m not missing something.

the memory I’m currently running and want to utilize on the x570 board with the new 5000 series Ryzen CPUs are:

G.SKILL Trident Z Royal Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C16Q-32GTRSC
 

from my understanding, the ram may still work but there won’t be a supported XMP/DOCP for it (I do plan on running a DOCP). Please let me know what your thoughts are! Thank you!

Memory that is on the QVL is guaranteed to work, but memory that is not on the QVL also usually works just fine.

 

You should be fine. There will be an XMP profile available for you to activate, but there is a small chance that you could have problems and may need to do some manual tuning.
