Performance issue on new GPU.

Go to solution Solved by HawkinEagul,

But it's not. It's basically a display adapter.

It's newer, but worse. It's not meant for gaming.

So, I've had this PC for a long time now, 8 years i think, and its a very low-end one, i grew used to it, playing on low graphics and low fps. But there were games where i could play with stable high fps like rocket league. I had an AMD Radeon 6800 with 1GB vram, but some overheating problems started showing up and i upgraded it, which seemed to fix it (there's an explanation for why it was overheating, its just too extensive). I upgraded to a NVIDIA Geforce GT 710, a very low upgrade but one that should be noticeable, but im getting very low fps on all games, rocket league including. Besides, the PC does restart for itself when it gets too loaded, but im 99% sure its an old faulty power supply. What im here to know is if the performance issue is because of the faulty power supply or other thing.

CPU: i7 975 3.33 GHz

RAM: 8 GB

If you want the cheapest possible upgrade, you could wait on your older card for a little longer and get a second hand gtx1000 or rtx2000 card. Currently those still go for a lot of money because of rtx3000 shortages. GTX1660 is not a bad budget card if you can get your hands on one.

On the AMD side, look at your local gumtree or craigslist alternative, find what they have there, and type "your current gpu vs new gpu" into the magic google. It'll give you plenty of results hinting at whether it's an upgrade.
