Adding RAM help

So I have an AMD B350 motherboard chipset and currently have 8GB of RAM installed. I would like to add another stick of 8GB but I'm not sure which one to get. My current stick is 8GB DDR4 2400 MHz DIMM Memory. Does my new RAM stick have to be compatible with my old one?

2 different sticks will run at base frequency (2400mhz) unless it's the exact same timings and speed. 

If you have a Zen+ CPU i'd recommend a higher frequency kit (3000hz)

Buy the exact same model as you have right now - just to make it look better.
