Amd ryzen cpu thermal paste spreading?

Hey, so I have to reapply thermal paste to my cpu cause I had to remove the pump(the initial thermal paste was preapplied). 

 

So I'm just wondering is there a certain way I just put the thermal paste for amd cpus? I have ryzen 5 5600 if it makes a difference. Looking online I see that some people manually spread it with the spreader that comes with the thermal paste. Or should I stick to the good old rice grain method and allow the pump to evenly spread it?
