Hey, I'm having an issue while playing siege, where after a few minutes of gameplay, every 10 seconds about, my frames will drop dramatically for a couple seconds, then go back to normal and repeat the cycle. I've had this similar issue a couple months ago with Modern Warfare, but instead of going back to normal, the frames would just stay super low after a bit. I can't remember if I got that fixed, I think so though.

Anyways, I ran the game with MSI Afterburner overlay, and I noticed that whenever this happens the GPU usage shoots to 99/100%.

System Info:

It's a laptop. The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M to be exact.

OS - Windows 10 Home, 64-bit, Version 1909
Age - Computer's about to be 2 years old since I bought it

CPU - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2592 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
Graphics Card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti

Manufacturer - ASUS

Exact Model - Zephyrus M GU502GU
BIOS Version - 309

NVIDIA Driver Version - 460.89

Any ideas what this could be? Thank you so much!

probably thermal throttling. you can monitor temperatures using msi afterburner or hwinfo64. if you see the cpu reach 95 or the gpu reach 85 when the fps drop happens, that's the reason.

some solutions for thermal throttling are a cooling pad or a fps cap on the game.

I don't even have to look again haha. I know for a fact the temps reach at a minimum what you just described right there. On my main setup I have a cooling pad for it, and an external monitor and everything, (basically a desktop setup for it). But right now I'm just talking about the laptop stand alone. I haven't tested it on my main setup to see if it drops the same way, but if you're right it shouldn't. (I'm unable to test it there atm). So I think you may be right on that...
