So I recently upgraded my computer. I used to have a Asus Hero 8 with a 6700k. Now I have a msi mpg z490 with a 10700k. GPU is a 1080 reference. The issue that I'm having is when the gpu is plugged in to the new motherboard and I try and post, the system simply won't display anything on the gpu or mb display ports. If I remove the gpu I get a post screen and can enter the bios. There are no error lights or codes no matter what configuration I have the setup in. I have confirmed that the gpu is not the issue as it works when I reconfigure the system with the hero 8 and the 6700k. On top of this the computer won't boot either. I have a USB windows media installer and its detected by the bios, however, the system will not load into the boot screen off my USB. Usually it seems to just have the MPG logo stuck to the screen. Lol.
Edit: I was able to get the computer running, it boots into windows and the gpu is detected. I don't know what I did differently. Now my issue is not being able to get into the bios. Only when the GPU is plugged in though. When I press the bios access button it just says no signal from the GPU. I do not know what I did differently which is unfortunate because I cant learn from it.

Did you upgrade the PC with the old OS already in it? If yes then boot without the GPU uninstall old drivers then try reinstalling the GPU and then the drivers. Otherwise do a fresh install of windows.... BTW I'm not an expert in this... Just my opinion.... :D

Thank you, I never wiped the ssd im using so it still has the old files on it. What the plan was to wipe it after booting using the windows media tool when I was going to reinstall windows. Also, I tried getting it to the bios without any drive in it and it still wouldn't post using the GPU display output. Thank you for your reply.
