Good afternoon to you all,

Short intro - I don't post on forums much unless I can't figure something out at all. That's all

Anyways to my issue at hand. I finished my computer around two years ago and from day one it has been a big pain in the neck. I don't remember the issues I had back then but things kinda mellowed until recently.

My computer lately simply would just turn off without warning. In some instances it would do so under load or idle alike. I remember this being an issue much earlier in it's life but now it's back to being unstable even worse than before.

Before I started tinkering with things I had Windows 10 Pro v. 20h2 - current.

Starting Build:

Ryzen 5 3600

Corsair H60 AIO cooler

Asrock x470 Gaming-ITX/ac - BIOS 4.10

2x16GB Ballistix BLS2K16G4D32AESC

Gigabyte Windforce RTX 2060

250GB Samsung 970 EVO

2x1TB SSD in RAID0

Corsair SF600

Back then nothing would show in event viewer for errors and it would just act like power supply was giving up. Swapped out cables. Turns out that was the issue then. Then the issues started happening again with a vengeance, to the point the computer wouldn't let me boot into safe mode.

Said the heck with it and installed a linux distro because I know that will work while I figure out what's going on. Did some benchmarking.... and crash. The computer would not stay alive during FPU Raytracing benchmarking using System Profiler application. Here's what a list of what I've done thus far.

  • Swapped out power supply for seasonic tx-750
  • Benchmarked using friends RAM which was on QVL list for Asrock mobo
  • Swapped out mobo for ASUS b550m
  • Tested with different GPU
  • installed Ryzenator whatever that program was called for increasing stability for ryzen builds in linux distros
  • Turned off C-state
  • messed with RAM and CPU Clocks using XMP and manually
  • Swapped out case because older case looked like it was starting to fray at a cable - and honestly it was an ugly case to begin with

Finally I said what the heck, I'll just turn bring the CPU down to 4 Cores - SMT enabled. Finally stable again. Reinstalled Windows 10 Pro 20h2 and all is good again.

End Build:

Ryzen 5 3600

Corsair h60 AIO Cooler

ASUS Prime b550m/wifi - BIOS 1401

2x16GB Ballistix BLS2K16G4D32AESC

Gigabyte Windforce RTX 2060

250GB Samsung 970 EVO

2x1TB SSD in RAID0

Seasonic Prime TX-750

I've set everything to default in bios with the exclusion of my RAID0 and keeping my CPU to 4 cores SMT enabled for stability. I have the latest version of AGESA installed. This is the only way my computer will stay stable. Is my processor dying or am I just an idiot and didn't set something right?

TLDR -  My computer broke from the beginning but not enough to warrant hardware swaps. Now is derping and tried building almost another computer. Still derping. Am I the dumb or is the computer legitimately borked.

Thank you for reading and potentially helping. A thousand fresh breaths and a lifetime of good coffee to you all.
