EVGA PSU + Cablemod set

Exeon

Hello all,

I currently own a EVGA G2 850w PSU, at the time it was one of the better price/quality gold rated PSU's out there.

I've owned this one since 2015, I'm planning to buy a cablemod Pro set for my new build

However I've seen complaints about newer models, the G5's give off a harsh coil whine.

So the questions that I have is:

Is there a chance that I run into problems with the G2 paired up with the 3080?

Are the issues in the EVGA lineup being adressed/can we expect a better fleshed out "G6?" psu-line from them?

I just don't want to buy a cablemod set for this PSU, to then having to throw it away due to no EVGA replacement options being available.

IMO he G2 was the better version.

G3, people complained about the cooling fan.

G5, not sure about, still quite new.

I've got a 650W G2, in one of my systems, no complaints after ~3 years.

I'm using it with a set of white CableMod cables, too.

From what I know G2 / G3 / G5 / P2 / T2 uses the same cables....

Yup, they do.

I've got a 850W G2 in my main system, red + white CableMod set.
