can the 3.1 gen 2 usb c connector from the nzxt h510 be connected to the gen 1 header in these mother boards at reduced speeds -

Like I said, if you use the adapter linked in my first post, you can connect the internal USB-C cable to the 19-pin motherboard header. It won't be 10Gbps (only 5Gbps), but you seemed to indicated that doesn't matter.

 

As I also said, the two B550 boards in your list already have the proper USB-C internal header and have rear USB-C, so those are what you're looking for.

I just replied to an identical thread so I'll simply copy and paste from there:

 

A Type-C port is a Type-C port. Both his mobo and case have one. All you have to do is plug it in. Versions and generations don't matter.

 

A case can not have "generations" for Type-C. That's just pointless marketing from them. It's just some wire hooked up to a piece of metal. What determines the speed is your mobo and the device you plug into it.

That particular mobo doesn't have an internal Type-C connector so you would need an adapter.

 

Some of the mobos you listed in your first post already have internal Type-C connectors.

As I also said, the two B550 boards in your list already have the proper USB-C internal header and have rear USB-C, so those are what you're looking for.

yes they have the internal usb type-c header but it says gen 1 and the nzxt h510 case says gen 2 so my question is will be compatible with the internal usb type c gen 1 header in the mobo( i am not talking about the 20 pin usb type a connector )
