I got a new i9 9900K to replace my i5 8400 but when I put in the new chip the lights turn on and the fans spin but there is no output. When I put my i5 back in it works fine. I checked and my chipset drivers are up to date and should support 9th gen intel. I also made sure it was put In correctly. I even cleared the CMOs but still no output. I have a msi z370 gaming plus motherboard. Please help.

your BIOS is almost certainly out of date. Could you share the motherboard model?

Nearly every B360, H310/370, and Z370 motherboard shipped with a BIOS version that was too old for 9th gen, and if you got your i5-8400 when it first came out, the motherboard would definitely not be up to date.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B
