RAM speed issues

So recently I had purchased a new motherboard, the MSI B450 tomahawk max, I also purchased two sticks of RAM, Corsair CMK16GXM2B3200C16 vengeance LPX (x2 8gb). I already had the exact same x2 RAM sticks in me previous setup and they ran at 3200mhz. After installing the new motherboard and the 2 new RAM sticks, the computer booted up fine, I went into the BIOS to change the new RAM sticks to the 3200 mhz. Saving and exiting the BIOS the computer shut down, booted up, then shut down again and booted up once more and stayed on. After messing with the RAM sticks, it was unable to apply the XMP profile of 3200mhz and start up properly, it had to shut down and revert back to the default speed. As a test a placed both new and old RAM stick in independently and they ran at 3200mhz without failure, but when they are put in all 4 together, they do not work at 3200mhz.

 

I was able to get it to run on the 2733mhz option, but nothing above that. My BIOS is up to date.

 

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Running 4 dimms at high speeds is very hard on the IMC. Additionally, the motherboard's QVL does not have any 4 dimm 3200Mhz kits listed as supported at full speed. The fastest 4 dimm kit on the QVL with your CPU is 2933Mhz.

 

You might be able to raise your SOC voltage to 1.1V-1.2V to get it stable. But keep your expectations in line with the above.

Sorry to threadjack, but I quite literally upgraded my RAM today by adding two additional RAM sticks of Corsair Vengeance CMW16GX4M2C3600C18 and I'm also having BSOD issues (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA). Could it be the same issue for me?

Motherboard: MSI X570 A-Pro
CPU: Ryzen 7 3800X
RAM: 4x 8GB Corsair Vengeance 3600 C18 CMW16GX4M2C3600C18

 

And if that's the case, the logical assumption is that going to two sticks of 16 GB each could solve that issue, is that correct?

The 3800X does not have quite the same restrictions as the 3400G, since it has a better IMC. But yes, this could still be a similar issue, and the same solution may help you.
