DCS: Digital Combat Simulator graphics issues

Hi all, I recently downloaded DCS and I'm having some trouble getting it to run properly.

When I load into a game, the framerate is really low, easily under 30 FPS. My hardware monitor shows that the game is using less than 10% GPU and CPU, 4/6GB VRAM, and 16/32 DRAM. I assume something isn't right because the game is chugging but none of my system resources are maxed.

RAM: 4x 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200

GPU: Radeon 5600XT Sapphire Pulse

Storage: 500GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD

1TB Crucial M.2 SATA

256GB Intel 760P M.2 NVME

1TB Seagate 7200RPM HDD

PSU: Corsair RM650

idk how well that game is optimised, but you could try running DDU and reinstalling the graphics driver?
