I can tell you as a owner of that mobo, makes me sad when I look up the best X570 boards. Instead, consider going B450 or B550. but it works nonetheless. Not sure about that PSU.

Suggestions:

  • Combine the SSDs (no need for two)
  • B550 instead of X570
  • 16GB of RAM instead of 32
  • 5700XT instead of 5600XT

@eeeee1 Thanks for the input.  I will look into a B550 motherboard then.  I was thinking the X570 chipset would be better if they wanted to upgrade the processor.  As for PSU I have had reasonable luck with my Corsair’s so I thought it may work.

 

@AbydosOne Good suggestions.  I always thought it was good to have a boot drive and a separate drive for storage and games.  The 32 GB of RAM is only because that is what I have done in the past with my builds, but I like the idea of trading down to get a better GPU if I can find one.

using a nvme as the boot drive wont make windows 10 boot any faster than it would when using a sata ssd as the boot drive

@GoodEnough Thank you for the suggestions.  I was able to find a 5700XT on sale so swapped that for the 5600XT then went for a single 1TB Inland Professional NVME drive which certainly will make installation easy using only 1 drive.

 

Also picked up the Meshify C as you suggested and it does seem bigger on the inside than the Corsair not sure why.  I dropped to an MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus Motherboard to save a bit.

 

The family that is getting this is not into RGB so I added 3 ML120 fans to keep air flowing.

 

All in all I think they will be happy with this PC.
