model m or unicomp clone

I am looking to buy a model m but i dont know if i should go with a unicomp clone or the real thing off of ebay.

He Unicomp isn't a clone they bought the name, patents and resources off IBM. I own one and I will say I would buy that over a original model m. Also I would not recommend a buckling spring for game but if it works for you great it's the superior typing experience

depends if you enjoy 'thrift shopping' on ebay and most likely putting in a lot of elbow grease after paying money.  if so, go for model m.  otherwise, if you're more concerned about getting something working asap, go unicomp
