Hello guys,

I need help choosing ram for my laptop, I have 4gb 2133mhz ddr4 15-15-15-35 timing ram in it. If I will not be able to find same specs ram will it be effective to add 8gb stick with same speed and other timings will it be faster than 8gb but dual channel .... Also can dual channel mode be activated by using 4 out of 8gb (laptop is lenovo ideapad 320-15isk)

Your post is quite hard to work out what you're asking, so my answers will be very generalised and rough, sorry about that.
2133MHz 15-15-15-35 sounds like normal JEDEC (stock) speeds. I wouldn't worry about finding sticks with the exact same timings, they'll use whatever the slowest stick uses. Adding an 8GB stick to a 4GB stick isn't really ideal, it would be better to go with 2x8GB but 4GB and 8GB should still work, even in dual channel but one channel will have 2x the RAM amount so effectively only 66% of your RAM is in dual channel, since one channel has 33% and the other has 66%.

Yours faithfully

So the timings should not be exactly same for working in dual channel? What specs should be the same for working in DC

No both sticks will use the same timings of the slowest stick if they're mismatched, you have to run the same timings in all channels and the same speed, at least on that IMC you do. It won't be ideal but that doesn't matter.

Yours faithfully

Thanks a lot bro. So what specs should exactly be same ? Maybe voltage?
