Hi,

I build new PC from scratch and am not able to get to bios or boot.

I have MSI X570 tomahawk with Ryzen 5800X. Am still waiting for 3080 to arrive so am using my older MSI 1070 Gaming X.

I put everything together and went to first turn on. It didnt work, only EZ Debug CPU led light up. I googled a bit, removed everything except m.2 and tried CMOS reset by shorting pins. Then flashing bios with official bios from MSI site. The led to indicate flash started blinking and then stopped, according to the reddit post I was following, the PC should have rebooted on its own. I tried this flash bios few times but it never restarted on its own. So I had to turn it off by switching PSU switch.

Then I tried one last thing, putting everything back in and starting the PC. Suddenly the EZ debug CPU led turned off and I got 1 long and 2 short beeps from MB. According to manual this indicates failure in GPU or other video error. But I was using that GPU just few hours ago in my old PC. So I installed it back into old PC and it works perfectly. Then put it back to the new one and I got still 1 long 2 short beeps...

Now on EZ debug LEDS sometimes the VGA led is on or Boot led, but PC just wont post or get into bios. I also found that I should try the VGA port, but this MB has only HDMI. Also the Ryzen 5800x does not have integrated GPU so am not sure if the HDMI should work at all. I also tried putting DP cable into the GPU, but still no output to the monitor.

Any help appreciated :)

Have you updated the BIOS? The Ryzen 5000 Series CPUs typically require a new BIOS version, and you can update the BIOS with the BIOS flash button so thankfully you don't need a compatible 3rd gen CPU.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

If am not wrong flashing bios will also update it right?

Edit: also I've read that I should use less than 16gb usb stick to flash it, but I dont have that small at the moment. But the led for indicating the flash stopped flashing so I suppose it was succesful. I frustrated that it is not working and I dont know why....
