Budget (including currency): $1700 USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: School, video editing, streaming? maybe, gaming (CSGO, Destiny 2, Overwatch)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I currently have a gaming laptop with a 980M and am finally looking to upgrade my rig. I have been having internet connection issues with the laptop. I usually get the best possible in my budget and then wait 6 years to upgrade lol. I already have a monitor that I can use and a keyboard/mouse.

NOTE: I am willing to wait for new components to come back in stock as I want the best bang for my buck

My Build List thoughts?

-Get a 80+ Gold PSU (from a well known company ofc)

-You don’t have too (and shouldn’t) pay full retail price for an oem key

-You don’t need that cooler for a 5600X

-It’s a 6800, not a 5800

Ok so first I would as he said get a 80+ Gold psu I would recommend Corsair. I would get maybe 32Gb of ram so you can run editing software well bc that take loads of ram.. Also don't buy a full price key as you can get them (legally and legit) for $30. I can confirm they won't scam u haha but I also wouldn't get that cooler bc it's a bit overkill, maybe a CoolerMaster fan, not water cooled unless you really want the water cooler. I would also get a Threadripper 1900x as it has 8cores and 16 threads which is higher than the 5 5600x and IS in stock, for a lower price. Thats probably the best advice and you're getting a great build right there!

where else can I get a legal window 10 key

I got from URCDKEY but you can search for them just make sure they're reliable. The URCDKEY is from TechScource that I saw them so I trusted it a bit more than one I found randomly on google.

does not mean anything. Effiecny is not quality. Company is not quality. That Bq is better than some 80+ golds/ platinums out there,

Any web store. You can get windows for 10-15$ or use KMS to activate windows for free.

1st gen threadripper doesn’t perform well in games. All Zen 3 CPUS will demolish it in gaming.
