now to the problem, as of about a month and a half back my friends were telling me i sounded horribly jumbled and like static when on any form of voice chat. Uninstalled the audio drivers as i somehow had both nvidia and msi drivers fighting for control. downloaded the realtek hd audio manager hoping it would solve my problem, it did and didnt. I no longer sound like a dialup modem, nobody can hear me. I have my speakers plugged into the rear IO and the headphones/mic i use for gaming are off the front panel via a 4 pole plug split out to the mic and audio jacks. When i plug the headphone jack in the realtek audio manager opens and it shows it as headphones...now when i plug in the mic jack it tries to show it as another headphone so i manually select that it is a microphone. I can hear everything fine but for some reason my mic audio is getting lost somewhere in the mix and every 2-3 min realtek has a popup notification asking what device i just plugged in even if devices have been plugged in for hours. please help, i just want to game with my friends that arent local.

TLDR: Mic jack doesnt work after realtek install dont know why

Have you tried updating your GPU driver to include the audio driver?

i think this is what caused the issue in the first place though i cant be certain as that was a while back. i can swap drivers and check.

Any luck?

sorry got a bit busy this week. i have had no luck, after uninstalling the realtek drivers i updated my gpu drivers to the newest version and it shows i have the nvidia drivers in my device manager but i cant figure out what im doing wrong as i cant get any audio from any output.

Edit: looks like after more browsing the nvidia audio drivers are for if the audio out is going via HDMI to a tv or something and as such dont seem to be beneficial for me. Back to trying to figure out why i cant have my mic and my headphones working at the same time.
