CPU for Video Playback

I am working on a build for an HD multi stream video play back machine. Manufacturer wants a ridiculous price for an i7-9700K / GTX 1660 rig. I am wanting to build my own but cannot find any suggestions for the best AMD or Intel equivalent CPU.

 

Basically it's for a high end security video monitoring system. It will be supporting 30 to 50 720P to 1080P video stream playbacks across 3 or 4 monitors.

 

I am considering a Ryzen 7 3700X paired with an RTX 2060S or equivalent GPU.

 

Suggestions, comments?

If its for. secuirty system, just buy their hardware, then you blame them when something goes wrong, nd you dont' hve to worry bout it.

 

What softwre re you using? What codecs, what bitrates? What is decoding the video?

Genetec Security Center, they want a crazy price. Like double or more off the self costs.

 

Encoding :H.264

Bit Rate varies from 1200 to 12000 depending the strem.

GPU is doing the decoding.

Top current systems on the network is an i7-7700K with a GTX 1060 6GB, looking to replace older machines running much lower specs.

id really buy thier boxes still, but probabaly that 3600/3700x and a 1660 will do fine here.

 

From my use of the decoders on those cards, they can handle >1000fps h264 720 decode, so it will all run on the gpu.
