Would it be better to buy a new gaming laptop on Black Friday, or May 2021?

hey guys,

I'm traveling abroad and I want to buy a new gaming laptop.  Since electronics are very expensive in the countries I will visit, I'll only get one when I come back to the US around May.

Now I'm faced with two options:

1 - Buy one on Black Friday, have it delivered to a friend to collect dust until May.

2 - Wait until I'm in the US to buy it.

In a nutshell, I wonder if prices are likely to fall enough by May, that it will be cheaper than current Black Friday discounts.

Sorry if this is a silly question, I honestly never owned a proper gaming machine, so I don't know how the price dynamics are when a new gen of components comes out.

I've been gaming for about 25 years, but couldn't afford a good machine before. So, this is a very special purchase.

Thank your replying so quickly! Sounds like solid advice I'll wait until I'm back.

Oh, trust me, I'd really love to. I wish I could build my own machine. Unfortunately, I never spend more than 3-4 months a year at home. So I need the mobility.
