Ok so ive been pissed off about this for quite a while (around 4 months) and i cant find a fix anywhere, like litteraly ANYWHERE not google, not youtube and not even the god damn windows support cant help me. ok so here's whats bothering me:

i bought a tp link adapter since i wanted faster speeds that my onboard wifi adapter couldnt reach, i installed it, installed the drivers and then wanted to use it, but of course windows has to make it hard and not let me select the adapter i wanted to use for my connection. basically i have wlan and wlan 2, the first one is 5ghz and the second one 2.4ghz and windows automatically decided oh yeah lets use the crappy trash onboard mobo adapter for the FASTER connection and the brand new better one for that little shit 2.4 connection. here's a list of things i tried to fix this problem: disabling the  onboard wifi with the bios? - too old doesnt even have the option to do so, disabling it in device manager? - turns off the 5ghz connection you cant use it and if you turn the connection on again to get it it also brings back the mobo adapter, windows support - too incompetent, network reset? - doesnt do shit just brings me back to where i started. jamming a screwdriver into the exact spot where the onboard wifi adapter is? a bad fucking idea probably? ok im done ranting if i dont find a fix i have to buy a new motherboard and i cant wait a week for shipping its this painful to endure slow internet. oh and also while playing rocket league and many other games i sometimes just disconnect for the connection?? it just disappears for 5 seconds, comes back and i have to wait for it to connect like 30 seconds. nice 0:20 goals in 1v1 :) well anyway if you know how to fix this please fucking help me oh god i beg you.

If you have any questions just ask me and ill put the answer back in here. also my mobo is around 5 years old its an asus mobo but i cant find the name for it since its something like an5432o7i52347095470932790543

Get a motherboard for your current system that doesn't have built in WiFi? Upgrade the system to a modern board, cpu, and ram that has up to date wireless AC. If the system is 5 years old I'd go the upgrade route personally. It should be as simple as disabling it in the bios or in Windows Device Manager, however if it's not disabling and having more problems just take the hassle free approach and instead of racking your brain trying to figure it out do one of the two things I suggested. Unless someone else on here has any other ideas, I honestly wouldn't use the board since you know, you stabbed the wireless chip with a screw driver(that was a terrible idea) I'm surprised the system motherboard even still works and you didn't fry anything.
