lowfps Low Frame Rate and Major Stuttering with 40-50% CPU and 70-80% GPU Utilization

Hello,

 

I have a problem with low FPS and major stuttering in games. I could play CoD: Warzone at high specs with FPS at the 90-100 mark and since the last months i noticed stuttering in games like Enter the Gungeon and Control. I've now played AC Valhalla for two days and its unplayable (Screenshot). The CPU and GPU utilization is not that high so no bottleneck there i supose. I've read that a PSU can be the problem but i'm not sure.

 

Setup:

OS: Windows 10 Business Edition 64-Bit

CPU: I5-8600

GPU: RTX2070 Super (Gigabit) (60 ^oC)

Ram: 16Gb 2666 Mhz DDR4

SSD: 500 GB Samsung (Evo?)

PSU: Don't know the brand 500 Watts (Think this is the problem)

Screen: 2560 × 1440

+1 on the PSU. The PSU might be a bad one. Get a better one.

can you post a photo of the psu label that lists the voltages, amperages and wattages?

looks like your gpu is  performing well, but the CPU frame times are bad and variable, which is what's causing the instability. can you monitor cpu temps using hwinfo64 or msi afterburner? it might be cpu throttling

I've played AC Valhalla for about 45 min. with minor stuttering. Some major stuttering happend at 11:43ish.. in a cutscene.

So, ive installed the new PSU, and removed some programs, its running better but there is still some light stuttering
