Is the budget for just the CPU+GPU+PSU  that you still need, or was that for the whole system?

a $1200 PC with a second gen Ryzen CPU and a 5700XT? for what reason?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

I interpreted that as $500 for the CPU and $500 for the GPU, with a budget as high as $1400 it made more sense that way

Would there be a big difference between 2600 and the 3600 in the price to performance perspective?

for actual performance, there's about a 10 - 15% difference. In PTP, there's not much of a difference

Not really. if your not streaming you really don't need 8 cores and 16 threads. Even if you are streaming or content creating, a 3600 will be able to handle that. the stock cool is also great, it can even handle a bit of overclocking. BTW - there are some rumors about a RTX 3060 soon, and that will probably be priced around $300 so that might fit into your budget. Its rumored to come out Dec. 2. But if you just want to game now, the others i gave you are great.
