Hi all,

A quick query, I have lost the right channel audio on my PC. I currently use a DAC with headphones running off that and thought the DAC was faulty, however when I tried a different set of headphones in the PC io, I still have the same issue. Specifically, when the PC boots, I have normal audio both through the PC io and DAC, but after 5 or so minutes, I loose the right channel from both. If I reconnect the headphones to the DAC, I get both channels for around 5 seconds, but loose the channel again. I have tried reinstalling drivers to no avail, as well as running the DAC from USB, to optical from pc but no change there, so is it more likely a hardware issue? My PC is getting on tbf, I'll list the specs below. Cheers.

CPU - FX-6300

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P

PSU - be quiet! 630W

RAM - 12GB DDR3

My guess would be aging capacitors on your motherbord, which when heating up stop working properly.

So in short, your motherboard is slowly dying.
