Will this CPU bottleneck my GPU?

Budget (including currency): $1700 AUD

Country: Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Assassins Creed Odyssey, Metro Exodus, CS:GO, word processing and browsing, Cyberpunk 2077

Planned build:

Case - Corsair 4000D TG

MoBo - ASUS TUF Gaming B460 Pro WiFi

CPU - Intel Core i5 10600

GPU - ASUS GeForce RTX 2070 Super Dual Evo 8GB

RAM - Crucial DDR4 2666 2x8GB

PSU - Thermaltake GF1 650W

 

I intend to play at maximum graphics at 1080p, and will consider 4k depending on what monitors are within my monitor budget.

it will not but i will still recommend going for a k processor or a z series motherboard if your budget allows

2070 with that CPU is a decent pairing. You would be leaving a small amount of performance out there, but nothing you should sweat over.

Thanks for your reply.  This is the super 2070 which outperforms the original.  When you say I'll be leaving performance out, are you talking about the original 2070?  Cause in that case, I might as well just go down to that card and forget the super...

no, talking more in terms of overclocking support, XMP memory speeds etc... I just assume everyone has a Super card personally.

Down the line when your system gets older and not giving the performance you're expecting out of it, overclocking with a K SKU processor will give it some extra life that otherwise you would have the feeling of upgrading sooner than later.
