I'd guess GPU drivers but you haven't given us any information.

What are the specs of his PC? What kind of crash (BSOD, hard reboot, etc)? What are temps? Drivers installed and up to date? What OS?

Quote me to see my reply!

SPECS:

CPU: Xeon X5650 OC'd to 4.2GHz @ 1.35V (courtesy of @XR6)Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth X58 RAM: 4x4GB G.Skill DDR3 1866MHz GPU: Asus RX 570 Strix Storage: WD Blue 1TB and a 128GB Kingston UV400 PSU: EVGA 600B Case: Fractal Design Define C Cooling: H100i V2, be quiet! Pure Wings 2 (two intake, two exhausting through radiator) Monitor: 3x Dell P2210 on a Steelcase Eyesite triple monitor stand Mouse: Logitech G403 Prodigy Wireless Keyboard: It changes, but usually Focus FK-9000 Mousepad: Steelseries QcK XL Headphones:  Sennheiser HD598SE

Computer specs?

Some of my guesses. Can't really tell the exact problem without knowing the specs/anything.

  • Computer's PSU didn't have enough power to run it because the GPU/CPU eats all of the power. Therefore, sudden restart.
  • Might be some hardware problem that I can't tell what because we don't have enough information.

Humor me, as you should do.

Spec's good enough tbh. I'd suggest to update the driver on the GPU, or just reinstall the driver. Might be solving the problem.

Note. If you wanna download the new driver, I'd suggest to follow this video and use this page to download the driver instead. Choose the STANDARD on "Windows Driver Type". NVIDIA driver nowadays are using DCH which, sucks af that you can't install the NVIDIA control panel on Windows Store if you're unlucky.

Humor me, as you should do.
