Hi,

I am experiencing some issues with my PC. For about 5 weeks now ive been experiencing a loud snapping/clicking sound when starting or stopping audio. I have an audio workstation with an RTX2060.

System specs:"

intel 10600k.

MSI Mag z490 Tomahawk.

32gb 2x16 corsair vengeance lpx 3200 Ram.

EVGA Rtx 2060.

Samsung evo nmve m.2

Crucial SSD

Corsair 650gold

Im asking here because noone seems to be able to help me with my problem, so i kinda figured that this is my last hope..

Let me explain the problem and what i tried to fix:

Since 5 weeks, something in my PC changed. I uses ableton with my Clarett 2pre audio interface. From one day to the next my pc starts making this loud clicking/snapping sound when i play/stop audio. Its like when you plug in a headphone in an amp etc. The same snapping/popping sound. It is especially noticable when i put a delay on chords, then every delay the snapping sound occurs. If i play multiple instruments together or experience a lot of sound at the same time, it craps out. Like the audio is deteriorating (sorry if spelled wrong). I want to emphasize that the issue persists when i use the audio interface/motherboard audio/HDMI audio. So even without the audio interface the issue persists.

Now ive been on a maddening troubleshooting spree. Let me explain what i have tried to fix in the past weeks.

- Reinstalled windows multiple times on different HDD's and different windows builds.

- Troubleshooting drivers of different devices/windows.

- Ground loop eliminator (device).

- Usage of different audio interfaces and audio drivers.

- Optimized windows for audio production (disable C-state, disable speed step, Disable usb power savings, optimized performance plan with 100% cpu plan, Disable USB exclusivity, buffer and sample rates, disable all audio enhancements & System sounds, Enable & Disable CPU background processing.)

- Latencymon gives a green for audio production. It does however show that both dxgkrnl.sys and nvlddmkm.sys both have a latency of about 550,887671 and slowly climing to around 637,349172 and rising further the longer it runs. But those are both in the green. (ill come back to why this concerns me)

All of the advice mentioned online resulted in no succes. Then i started suspecting it might have been a hardware issue... and this is where i got a bit impulsive and wasted a lot of money... Because i could not fix the issue within windows, i tried replacing parts of my pc to see if this would get me any results, without luck.. I replaced my motherboard, Ram sticks, harddrives etc. I replaced everything but my GPU and PSU... all with no luck.. So at this time im guessing these problems are caused either by my psu, but that seems ulikely to me, or its my GPU that is causing some sort of issue... but i cant seem to figure out what it is... i have the latest 456.71 driver installed.

Can anyone please help me with an sollution, im really desperate.. and starting to think that going an all amd system is only gonna solve my issue... i dont want to spend any more money at this point.. i could have gotten a massive gaming rig if i add all the costs i made... please anyone??

Sincerely, Kevin.
