Front io mic Input

Hello, I recently built my first pc and everything works well except for my front mic input.  When I plug In my mic the only output is static even when my headset mic is muted.  The headset works fine, I have checked other headsets.  I have checked my drivers.  I have replaced my front io.  I don't know what else to do.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you plug your front audio into the correct mobo header?

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Yes.  The audio output works fine.  It is just the input.

Post your system specs, mainly, what mobo do you have as well as what case.

 

And have you visually verified the connector is 100% perfect? Many times i have though i plugged in a cable correctly only to discover i had not.

Daily driver (looking to upgrade mobo and cpu spring of 2021)   --- The only time I sort by price from high to low is when I am shopping for CPU's and GPU's (looking for a cheap i7-7700k though)

Looks good,

you might pull the connector and eyeball all the little connectors inside.

I have seen them come loose and push back into the connector housing, and then not make the connection.

 

Also, do you have the realtek software installed?

If not, install that and see if it works.
