Can't format drive from failed raid0 array

raskec

Hi all, i had 2 crucial mx300's in a raid 0 array, the power went out and after one drive is not recognised at all, doesn't show in bios or anything.

i'd like to reuse the other drive which shows up fine, but i can't delete the volumes on it, i get the following error "The parameter is incorrect" (see attached image)

if i try to format  a partition i get "the format did not complete succesfully", if i try a not quick format it got about halfway through then just stopped there (i left it overnight)

Anyone have any idea how to make it useable, i don't care about any data on it, just want to reuse the hardware.

Try 'Select Disk 1' then 'Clean'.

Put a new partition table on it. Don't remember how to do it in Windows but it should be fairly simple.

Hi, thanks for the reply, clean worked! just had to reinitialise it, then it would let me put the new partiton table on it and formatted fine, thanks a lot for the really quick responses

Yeah, FYI the reason why you couldn't delete just that partition is because it was labelled as a System partition and Windows won't delete those (in case someone tries to remove the Windows system partitions which would brick the install). There are workarounds but the simplest solution is to clean the drive entirely.
