"need" vs "optimal speed"

The ram can run at any speed the controller can handle so anything from 1mhz to 5500mhz or more.

Zen3 has been said optimal speed is 4000mhz but that ram vs a 3200mhz kit is much more expensive

there is no minimum, the maximum is probably somewhere around 5ghz+ but realistically you're going to be stuck by the FCLK to be about 4000mhz ish, +/- some because lottery like zen2

as someone as said earlier, difference between 3200 and 3600 isn't that much and it *can* cost a lot more. Personally I'd just buy 3600 for like 10$ more than 3200 and be :) that my ram can OC to 4000 if I wanted to, but XMP is already fine.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.
