I need a stable connection from my new pc(still assemblyng it) and my router.

They're about 10 metres away in 2 differente floors and i live in italy where wall and everything are concrite or similar.

I want to know if its better run an ethernet cable(we have a stiffed duct it may not be possible to run the cable), buy a powerline or just using the 5ghz lan. I am on the edge of the 5ghz so i want to know some good powerline with about 1gbit/s speed for about 50 euros to order on amazon (only choice).

i've not had good experience with powerline in my house (~12 years old housing)

the speed is crusty doodoo, but it beats wifi for the distance im using it for (20-30meters)

but i used to own a reel of 50M LAN cable, nothing beats that

but it can be ugly and hard to cable manage well

so it depends:

WiFi:

- never get USB Adapters, i've had 3, and 2 of them will overheat and lose connection when you use over 20mbps for some period of time (minecraft can go up to 30mbps :I), the other 1 just overheat and died under very very light load

- depends on how many wall/obstacles are inbetween, you can check signal strength with your phone, though actual desktop wifi may vary

Powerline:

- depends on house wiring and if you're on the same phase, you can get multiphase powerline adapters (costs more)

LAN:

- absolutely preferred, but can be ugly and hard to cable manage as stated.

- can be costly for long distance but 10M should be fine.

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

It depends on how your broadband is being delivered, if its DSL based then its best to avoid powerline at all costs.
