i7 10700K vs R7 5800x price to performance

I have been thinking of upgrading my 7700k to a new processor for when the RTX 3080 becomes available but I can decide between getting a 10700k right now for $350 or waiting for the $450 R7 5800x. Would the gaming performance difference be enough to justify $100 extra? PCIe gen 4 is a factor but i don't really see it making that big of a difference. What do you think?
